The new Road-Scanner System for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region
Delivered and tested the Mobile Mapping System Road-Scanner to the Friuli Region
Siteco Informatica was awarded the tender for the high-performance geo-referenced MMS Road-Scanner for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The system has been delivered and tested.
By implementing this new instrumentation, the Region intends to ensure the constant updating of the information system and the Road inventory that has been developed under the Ministerial Decree 1-6-2001.
The Region also intends to provide for the semiautomatic survey of the asphalt quality, to efficiently plan the intervention priorities for road activities.
Siteco participated in this tender by proposing a Road-Scanner system already supplied to several customers in Italy and abroad. The system was much appreciated by the tender commission which assigned the technical score of 68.30 / 70.
The proposed configuration includes top-quality equipment: one Z+F 9012 laser-scanner, an Applanix AP60 GPS-Inertial system, a Ladybug 5 camera, and a Pavetesting profilometer for measuring the international longitudinal roughness index (IRI) of the road pavement.
The system was delivered and tested in November 2021. The training activities on the application suite delivered with the system, represents one of the most relevant points of the supply. The application suite includes Road-SIT Survey for the database editing and population, and Road-SIT WEB for the consultation of the point clouds and images in a WebGIS environment.
Both applications are equipped with advanced mapping functions that allow the contextualization of all the data collected in the GIS environment.
Among the most popular features, it's worthwhile to mention the function to import DXF and Shapefiles (topographic surveys, floor plans, etc.) and project them onto the imagery.
