PMS-SIT for Cagliari Airport
Cagliari Airport adopts PMS-SIT for pavement management in compliance with ENAC regulations.
The company Sogaer SpA, in charge of the management of the Cagliari Airport, Elmas, has purchased the PMS-SIT application and commissioned Siteco for carrying out the project of adoption of a Pavement Management System as provided in the guidelines of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC).
PMS-SIT is the application developed by Siteco and integrated into ESRI's ArcGIS software platform. PMS-SIT exploits the cartographic environment of ArcGIS and allows the complete management of all maintenance operations for the airport, starting from the analysis of the infrastructure, to the management of the interventions, the decay curves of the materials, up to the generation of maintenance plans and future scenarios.
The activities planned for the execution of the project are the following:
- Generation of the PMS infrastructure and creation of the pavement trunks, traffic zones, structural sections and sample areas;
- Importation of the historical data provided by Sogaer SpA into the PMS database, structured according to the ENAC guidelines;
- Implementation of inspection and maintenance activities with the defect detection, evaluation of the functional status, and generation of the main indices such as PCI and IRI;
- Creation of the catalog of necessary interventions for Cagliari airport and simulation of different maintenance scenarios.
Strengths of the Siteco Solution
PMS-SIT allows the complete management of cartographic and alphanumeric data of the airport infrastructure in compliance with the ENAC Guidelines (LG 2015/003-APT - Ed. No. 1 of 1 Oct. 2015). The ability to create/simulate maintenance plans, compare costs, time and benefits and evaluate the residual life of the infrastructure, makes PMS-SIT an excellent decision support tool.
