A Japanese TV Broadcasting presents Road-Scanner for the Road Safety !
A Japanese Research Study for the Detection of Unsafe Fences uses the MMS Road-Scanner4
The Tokushima University’s research team in collaboration with ASCO-Daito have been working on developing a project to efficiently survey any potentially dangerous block fences, presenting cracks, deterioration signs, or risk of collapse.
The study relating to the Tokushima area was broadcasted on Japanese TV, last week.
The study was carried out by using the road survey Mobile Mapping system Road-Scanner4 of SITECO Informatica.
The need for the study came from an accident occurred last June when a child died due to the collapse of a wall caused by an earthquake that hit the northern area of Osaka.
To cope with this problem, the need has arisen to check the state of the public and private urban roads and infrastructures of the area hit by the earthquake.
The Road-Scanner system was mounted on a vehicle that, driving along the roads, automatically collected all the necessary data and provided the state of the art of the surveyed area. The research project should be completed within this fiscal year.
