Since 2005 Siteco has developed its own technology of Mapping Mobile System with the collaboration of the Universities of Parma and Bologna. The Road-Scanner system is equipped with a laser-scanner produced by the German company FARO  (www.faro.com). The survey technique is absolutely innovative and is proposed at the international level by FARO and on the European market by Siteco itself.

Actually the company disposes of three Road-Scanner systems and in 4 years of activities over 20,000 km of road assets have been surveyed, delivered and tested by tens of public administrations. The survey of further 10,000 km is now in progress.

In a framework where the demand for geo-referenced information systems is constantly increasing, the Road-Scanner is the most innovative and complete system to survey the route and record the entire road asset, through a sequence of geo-referenced images. The survey includes also a complete inspection of the pavement and of the roadside asset, thanks to the profilometer, the laser-scanner and the Ground Penetrating Georadar (GPR).
