SURVEY

Siteco is at the top of the list for the Research in region of Emilia-Romagna

Siteco project for expanding the functionalities of the high-efficiency Road-Scanner vehicle, resulted to be first on the list of PRIITT (Program for the Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer). Aim of the study is the production of a ‘mobile multipurpose laboratory’ for the environment and land survey. It will allow Siteco to enrich the functionalities of the Road-Scanner system created in 2005 and already used for surveying over 20,000 km of roads, in our country and abroad. Some very innovative aspects, such as the topography precision level, the environmental monitoring and the road pavement analysis will be analyzed thanks to the contribution of the university of Bologna and of LASIM (Laboratory for Information Technology applied to  mobile systems). The system will integrate various already in-use instruments with some new acquisitions: GPS, inertial platform, profilometer, cameras, laser-scanner, GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), besides some environmental sensors (to register, for instance, the pollution level).

SURVEY

New IXSEA technology on the Road-Scanner vehicle

Siteco scanner announces the adoption of the French positioning system IXSEA for its high-efficiency road-scanner vehicle. After three years since the company entry into the road asset survey sector, it has reached a notable technological improvement with the adoption of the new GPS inertial positioning system, produced by the French company IXSEA (www.ixsea.fr).

Since a long time IXSEA is a global leader in the sector of high technology inertial platforms for the defense, and in the one of sea and aeronautical survey systems. IXSEA gyroscopes in optical fiber guarantee a control of the drift, lower than 0.01° per hour, i.e. 20 times more accurate than the traditional mechanical gyroscopes. The new LANDINS model for the land survey, equipped with a double-frequency GPS receiver, assures an absolute precision lower than 30 cm, even with a 2-minute outage of GPS signal. It is possible to get a 1000-Hz survey sampling for a geo-referenced scanning with a 10-time higher precision than the previous system.
